Brand Communications has been behind Invest In Africa in building a solid PR and media visibility portfolio for its newly launched African Partner Pool.

The African Partner Pool aims to increase the visibility and credibility of Ghanaian SMEs. It will also support international and domestic companies who want to maximise their local supply chains quicker and more effectively through its search functionality.

On October 28, 2014 in Accra, Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission and former Finance Minister, Prof. Kwesi Botchway launched the African Partner Pool. In attendance, among other dignitaries, were the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), Mrs Mawuena Trebarh and CEO of UT Bank, Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng.

As at 2014, approximately 92% of companies registered with Ghana’s Registrar General’s Department are classified as Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs). They provide an estimated 82% of manufacturing employment and about 70% to Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

It is therefore quite clear that Ghana’s SME sector, if nurtured properly, could have positive catalytic impacts on economic growth, incomes and employment.

That is why Brand Communications puts a premium on supporting its client, Invest in Africa (IIA), an organisation focused on tackling shared private sector challenges, in activating the African Partner Pool (APP), Ghana’s first cross sector SME online business directory.
