Raising the international profile of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2021) which was held in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa from 15 – 21 November 2021. It is the African continent’s premier trade and investment event and is firmly supportive of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement. 

Objective

To secure global media coverage for the IATF2022 and its impact in bringing together continental and global buyers and sellers, to share investment and market information designed to support the acceleration of intra-African trade and the economic integration of the continent.

Method

We invited 50 journalists to cover the event, wrote 22 press releases on the various keynote speeches, arranged interviews with global broadcast and print media houses and senior Afreximbank executives and had a far-reaching social media programme.

Results

We obtained over 870 pieces of tier one global media coverage, broadcast TV, radio, print and online. The Advertising Value equivalent of this media coverage is £8.99 million.
