Objective
The Pan African Payment & Settlement System (PAPSS), led by Afreximbank with the African Union and AfCFTA Secretariat, wanted a platform that could make a complex, continent-wide payments infrastructure engaging and easy to understand. Their mission: enable instant, secure, cost-effective cross-border payments in local currencies, driving Africa’s financial integration.
We created
We designed a responsive, visually dynamic site that simplifies the mechanics of PAPSS for audiences from central banks to SMEs. The homepage delivers the headline value – faster trade, reduced reliance on hard currencies, and African-led financial sovereignty – while audience-specific sections outline services such as the PAPSS Instant Payment System, African Currency Marketplace, and PAPSSCARD. Clean infographics illustrate settlement flows, and credentials like ISO certifications, partnerships, and geographic expansion build trust. Media highlights keep the platform current, while intuitive navigation and strong calls to action create a high-engagement user experience.
Results
PAPSS now has a clear, authoritative digital presence that positions it as the backbone of Africa’s payment future. By demystifying its systems and speaking directly to different stakeholders, the site builds understanding, trust, and adoption, helping to advance its mission to transform intra-African trade at scale.

All cards are created equal
Whether we’re showing the live banks in the network, a floating menu, steps in the process of connecting to PAPSS, or media articles, all cards are being kept consistent, creating an universal design language.
